Caroline Perrineau

Dedicated to exploring the connection of mind/body/spirit, Caroline uses the movement of the body to explore deeper layers and expand our understanding of ourselves, helping us alleviate burdens carried on.

Through active yoga sequences, Caroline explores parts of our body connected to deeper emotions. Inviting her students to alternate between acute focusing and total let go, the class will invite each and everyone to engage in an inner dialogue.

Caroline finds inspiration in dance and music. After studying and working in the field of “sustainability” for 10 years, she felt the need to make a more concrete impact by teaching a practice comprising the values she always wanted to promote: consciousness, awareness, respect of others life and of our environment.

She became a certified Vinyasa yoga teacher in 2015 and has been teaching since then in Paris and Europe.

Fleinvær Island

It is said that only one person lives on the island, and on any given day, this could be true. On the other hand, the island has several part time or seasonal inhabitants who call the island home. That being said, there are no cafes on the island (except for Saturday Waffles at the Youth Center), there are no supermarkets, nor are there bars or discos. There is no television or radio. Nature, rather, provides the only distraction. And, as you will see upon your arrival, in a place as remote as this, it can be quite the distraction.

As you land in Oslo, we will take the time to meet and greet at the hotel and set the foundations of the work we will do together. Take some time also to explore the city by foot or rest at the hotel. Join diner later in the evening in a lovely restaurant serving traditional Norwegian seafood.

The day after we will fly to Bodø (1h30), to finally take the boat to set foot on Fleinvær island (40mins), a remote island where you won’t find any cars or shops.

After we arrive to our home for the next 3 days “the Artic Hideaway”, we will start our first practice in the afternoon.

Full days on the retreat will run roughly like so:

Wake up to a cup of tea and a light breakfast surrounded by pristine nature and join the morning meditation followed by a 1hours 30mins yoga class.

A beautiful lunch will be then served.

In the free afternoon hours, you can take a tour to neighboring islands, fishing tours, bird watching, shell picking, enjoy the sauna or simply relax in the chill out zone or take a nap in your cabin.

In the late afternoon, we join together again for a cooling restorative yoga class.

Dinner will then be served.

In the evening, gather around a movie, enjoy a book, observe the northern lights or retreat to your bedroom for a peaceful sleep.

On our last day on the island we will wrap our practices and work in the morning and prepare for our adventure with the dogs in Bodo. We will slowly return to civilization, back to Oslo. As we celebrate our last evening together we will depart on our own ways the day after.

The retreat menu has been carefully designed with local Norwegian products, locally sourced. It will include some fish and seafood.

Of course, if you have any dietary restrictions, just let us know when you book and we can absolutely accommodate.

The Artic Hideaway is an architecturally stunning collection of five individual huts, a kitchen, a studio, a bath house, and a sauna ; a place to go to find simplicity in all its beauty. The cluster those cabins have been designed to be off-grid, clad in a sustainable hardwood.

Nestled into Sørværet of the Fleinvær islands, it provide guests with beautiful views of the Norwegian Sea, nearby islands, aves, seals, sunrises and sunsets, the northern lights, the midnight sun and so much more.

Used by artists, writers, musicians, as a meditation space, a yoga studio, as a space to brainstorm ideas, to facilitate creativity, a place where silence is only broken by the bird calls. Nature and the surroundings are an integral part of the hideaway.
