Yoga with style

Hey i thought i would write a post about my yoga outfits as i often get asked on Instagram what leggings i am wearing and what i think of them.

Truth is i have more leggings than i have pants in my dressing ! I guess that what comes with being a yoga teacher.

There are lots of option nowadays to chose your yoga pants and tops from. The shops i usually go to are Lululemon, Forever 21, Lole and Nike.

I also got to buy some brands online like ALO yoga, or got lucky enough to get offered a Teeki leggings. Those brands don't have shops in France though you can get it shipped but consider the additional cost of shipping and taxes.

I discovered in store lately Yoga Searcher, a french brand that uses bamboo fabric. From the tip of my fingers it seemed like it was very nice and comfy product i would love to try out one day ! As soon as i buy one i will let you know !

I believe you want to look at several parameters when choosing the right leggings:

- Design +> ALO

- Price +> Forever 21

- Thickness/ Fabric +> Teeki

- Comfort +> Teeki, Nike, Lulu, Lole

- Eco consciousness +>Teeki

Well as for the design and the look it is up to you ! I know on my side i am looking for more neutral tones (i used to buy crazy ones), so when i am off class i still can wear it without looking odd. For those looks, Forever 21, Lole and ALO (the new collection) are great choices.

As for the price there are big big differences in between brands: from a 20 euros at Forever 21 up to 100 euros at Lululemon, it can make a big difference in your choice. Know for sure that Lulu pants will last for a decade and you will avoid increasing yoga pants waste !

The fabric and its thickness plays a lot in my choice. I do sweat quite a lot when practicing hence i don't like thick fabric. Teeki does that amazing soft and thin fabric that feels like a second skin ! Lululemon does some thick ones, that could be useful for the cold times, you don't want to feel cold while practicing ! I found ALO's one to be relatively thick too.

Hence i found so far the most comfortable one are Nike, Teeki and Lole's ones. One thing to also consider when twisting your belly and doing all those bendy movements, you will appreciate a high waist band ;) Trust me ! Lulu does great ones.

Finally i have been looking on the eco consciousness of the product. I have to say i have not found information on this except for Teeki that recycles water plastic bottles and manufactures the goods in the US, contributing to its own country economy. That is always nice to know considering yoga values are also those of respecting our environment.

I hope this will help you make your choice and enjoy a bit more your practice. :)

Wishing you a sweet sweet Sunday ! It's sunny here in Paris !!

Love,

C.
